Periphery are back baby! That’s right, after five days of teasing on social media, the band have officially announced their upcoming album, Periphery V: Djent Is Not A Genre. Don’t get distracted by the silly name however, as the album is rumored to be one of their best to date.

After five days of teasing, Periphery have announced their upcoming record “Periphery V: Djent Is Not A Genre“. Upon announcing the album Periphery had this to share: 

Yes, it’s really happening! This Thursday, January 12th, we’ll be releasing not one but two singles from our forthcoming new album, Periphery V: Djent Is Not A Genre. The release of the singles, “Wildfire” and “Zagreus“, will be accompanied by an album pre-order. There will be 3 different LP variants available as well as a complete line of album-themed merch items. All can be ordered individually or as bundles. Everything We Know About Periphery V: Djent Is Not A Genre

Not much is known about Periphery V: Djent Is Not A Genre, but there have been many teasers showcasing heavy vocals and instrumentation as well as orchestrated elements. Nothing new for the Periphery camp, but fans can rest easy knowing these fan-favorite aspects return for P:V.

Fortunately, two singles “Wildfire” and “Zagreus” will be releasing on January 12th, 2023. So fans should be able to get a good taste of some of the many sounds found on the record.

Additionally, Veil of Maya vocalist Lukas Magyar had this to say in regards to Spencer Sotelo’s vocal performance on Periphery V: Djent Is Not A Genre:

Considering Lukas is a fantastic vocalist himself, it sounds like we are in for a treat.

Lastly, Periphery is very well known and acclaimed for their lengthy tracks like Racecar, Omega, and Reptile. Fortunately, it sounds like there are some to come. Jake Bowen reportedly mentioned on stream that tracks on the new album run long. This is sure to be exciting news for fans.
